NHS branded merchandise in the post-pandemic period

As the Covid pandemic recedes, it falls to the NHS marketing and communications teams to ensure that their messaging targets key areas that are more important than ever.

Inevitably there is not only a backlog of conventional patient needs but also an increase in treatment requests for conditions created or made more serious by 2 years of coronavirus impact.  It is more than ever important to ensure that people are reminded of the importance of re-instating routine health checks of all types.  There are large scale campaigns related to flu vaccination, smoking, blood pressure, cancer symptoms and so many more.  Also the area of mental health is of great concern to the NHS as the effects of pandemic controls have been considerable on many sections of the population.

NHS messaging has many forms that are tailored to reach people in all parts and levels of society.  TV, radio, social and printed media are all very important on a national level, although individual Trusts will also supplement such campaigns with branded merchandise that acts as an enduring reminder or call to action.  NHS branded merch is used at specific events, meet-the-public exhibitions, branded clothing for staff and volunteers, internal communication and as dedicated stationery for clinical departments.

Another extremely important use for NHS promotional items is the provision of medals, badges and awards to NHS staff in recognition of outstanding effort and devotion during the gruelling pandemic period.

As life slowly returns to normal and the healthcare sector is able to draw breath and plan ahead again, the role of branded products will continue to be a crucial communicating asset.
