A thank you from one of our customers for our supply of face masks and other communications material to Wolverhampton City Council during the worst of the pandemic
Dear colleague,
Ahead of the country’s first ever national Thank You Day on Sunday 4th July, we would like to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you for everything that you and your organisation has done to support City of Wolverhampton throughout the Coronavirus pandemic.
The past 16 months have been incredibly challenging and difficult for us all. With your help, we have been able to respond to the crisis by providing support for the most vulnerable people in our communities.
We are incredibly proud of how everyone across all sectors of our community has come together in the most incredible way. Delivering more than a million meals and emotional support to city residents who were isolating, raising more than £100,000 for local charities and foodbanks and rolling out Covid-19 testing sites and vaccination hubs, are just a few examples of how we have worked as One City.
The pandemic is not over, with cases of the Delta variant pushing up infection rates, we cannot afford to relax or rest on our laurels. It is vital that people continue to exercise caution, follow the guidance and of course get both doses of their vaccines which are now available for all adults. I know we can count on your support to encourage people to do just that.
When the time is right – and we are able to meet in greater numbers safely and face-to-face, we will be organising a special civic reception, hosted by The Right Worshipful Mayor of Wolverhampton to more formally recognize and commend the invaluable contribution you have made to our city.
The pandemic has hit us hard, but our city motto ‘Out of darkness, cometh light’. It has never been more relevant and we will bounce-back together as One City.
Thanks to your support, we will continue our journey of recovery and do what our city does best – look after each other and create a better future for everyone in City of Wolverhampton.
